St. Dominic Chapel Planning and Construction

Owners Representative, Project Management

Farrar & Associates assisted Providence College in the initial planning stages of this architecturally significant worship center.

Planning and New Construction:

  • 600-capacity chapel
  • Office of the Chaplain
  • Campus Ministry Center

Project Challenges:

  • Selection of exterior stone cladding to complement existing buildings
  • Engineering the structural steel compression ring to support the building cupola
  • Installation of 45 stained glass windows
  • Installation of the massive pipe organ

The first freestanding chapel in the college's 88-year history, this signature building embodies the spiritual support that is the foundation of Providence College, the nation's only college or university operated by the Dominican Order. The chapel's design encompasses this spirit, and we were honored to participate in bringing this symbol of faith to fruition. Estimated value: $9 million.
